Consultant Terms of Reference – Instructional Designer Consultant
Introduction:
The Al-Aqsa University (AQU) has received a Grant from the Quality Improvement Fund
(QIF) – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank and EC
for the project entitled: "Improving the Quality of Technology Education Teacher
Preparation Programs in the Universities and Colleges in Gaza Strip". The Grant aims at
supporting the improving quality of technology education teacher preparation programs in
the Universities and Colleges in the Gaza Strip. AQU intends to apply part of this grant for
the selection and employment of highly qualified Instructional Designer Consultant.
Assignment Objectives:
AQU is considering the selection of highly qualified Instructional Designer Consultant to
be part of the project staff responsible for developing dynamic education courses using
the most current instructional design principles along with web-based education and
multimedia techniques to develop four technology education courses as follows :
1. Multimedia production.
2. Educational video production.
3. Electricity 1.
4. Engineering Drawing.
• Duties and Responsibilities :
o Determining appropriate instructional goals and objectives based on analyses
of the tasks, learners and subject matter incorporation with the faculty
members teaching the courses.
o Facilitate optimal learning (chunks, sequences, and flows content).
o Develop the content of courses taking into consideration the most effective
techniques including web-based education, multimedia presentations and
Computer Based Education to ensure the objectives of the courses are met.
o Develops strategies to effectively communicate, build support for and ensure
the continued application of education content.
Deliverable :
1. Action Plan stating the objectives linked with tasks and expected outcomes in a
timely bound manner within the assignment duration, to be prepared within 1
week from signing the contract.
2. Completion of four courses in new e-learning environment (soft).
Qualifications:
1. University Degree in Computer Science, educational technology or/and
information technology (IT).
2. At least 2 applied professional consultation experience in instructional design.
3. Fluency in English and excellent report writing skills.
4. Ability to undertake administrative duties related to convert the courses.
Place of work: Place of work :
Housed within AQU and will be supervised by the project director.
Time Frame:
The duration of the assignment is two months;
Contract Type: Lump sum
