Job Title: Public Relations Officer – Full Time

Project Title:  “Combating Discrimination and Human Rights Abuse of Marginalized Women and Children with Disabilities”

Duration : 23 Months

Salary :  400 Euros

NCCR is an independent and non-profit Palestinian NGO with the purpose to assist people with physical disabilities; and speech-language hearing disorders within the Gaza Strip to promote their opportunities for living independently, and achieving individual life goals. This is implemented through the specific services and activities in the field of professional multidisciplinary home based care, speech/language/hearing teaching, humanitarian protection programmes and capacity building of NCCR and partners and stakeholders. NCCR serves as a centre for development and performance of services and, increasingly, as a center for expertise and training. The NCCR calls upon candidates to apply for the full time job.

The NCCR seeks to hire project officer for the said post.

Description of the project

Supported by the European Union, a two-year- project will be set up to help women and children with disabilities to get organized and to protect their own rights. The project will contribute to community awareness on human rights, welfare and gender equality of vulnerable women with disabilities and building a legal framework. To project will also reach out to men to share gender awareness and support the women. In this project NCCR will work together with Kifaia Foundation from the Netherlands. The project will include psychological counselling, legal consultations and professional capacity building within Community Based Organisations in dealing with females and children with disabilities and rehabilitation. As part of the project a Females disabilities Rights Centre will be established. 

Minimum Qualifications

A university degree from a recognized university in development studies , human science , or other related discipline .                           

Experience
Proven experience of at least three years in similar position with known organizations. 

Language
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic   

Functions and Responsibilities

·             Undertakes awareness activities involved in the project .

·             Coordinates with media agencies to cover the project activities and events.

·             Coordinates  seminars , workshops , and conferences pertaining the project .

 

Competences 

·                    Has excellent communication skills ;

·                    Has affinity with disabled people;

·                    Has affinity with gender equality;

·                    Needs to be flexible and to work under pressure ;

·                    Needs to be able to work with people, while keeping the goal in mind

·                    Needs to be communicative, and willing to work with foreign trainers and other stakeholders

·                    Needs to be reliable and transparent to the donors
