Job Title: Driver
Duration: 6 months with possibility of renewal
Duty Station: Gaza
Level: Service Contract
Under the guidance of National Programme Officer / Gaza office Coordinator and in close operation with the Country Office team the driver perform driving maintenance of vehicles, clerical and logistic functions
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provisions of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, performs minor repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times
Collects and delivers mail or documents when required
Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle log book, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit and necessary spare parts
Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident
Ensures the compliance with the UN Security measures
Whenever possible, delivers RH and other commodities/supplies procured by the UNFPA office warehouses to partner organizations
Assists in the logistical arrangements of UNFPA’s meetings/workshops by setting up and operating audio visual equipment, distributing printed materials, etc
Drive Country Office staff to any designated destination
Performs other duties as required

Job Requirements
Academic Requirements and Experience
Knowledge and skills: Secondary Education, valid and public driver license (Taxi /Busclean) knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies and local roads and conditions, skills in minor vehicle repairs, initiative and discretion
Experience: At least 3 years of professional driving experience, preferable with UN or diplomatic missions
Language: Fluency in Arabic and knowledge of English, Hebrew isan asset
